A very special birthday party-just not how we had planned.

We had a birthday party for Grace on Saturday. I had a big fun one with family and friends all planned, but because she was sick we had to cancel it. Instead she had a really great experience that was really rare. She got to spend time with all of her Grandparents and be the center of attention. She spent time with mimi in the morning, and then we had a small get together that night with Papa and Grandma Ellett and Boxall. Grace got both papa's to play the run and freeze game with her. (she loves it!!!)
She got totally spoiled rotten. The grandparents. She did actually eat a little cake. She wanted Ernie (yes Ernie-he is her favorite character on sesame street) My mom helped me so much with the cake-so thanks mom. It turned out very special and Grace just loved it. (in fact it may be all she ate for two days-but I thought-if she'll eat it-okay-because she wouldn't eat anything else)

We got her a trike for her birthday. She is still a little small on it so it may take time.

And her absolute favorite gift was the shopping cart (nice call dad!)

She opened each present piece by piece and pulled faces when it was a little difficult. Grandma Boxall loves tape on her presents-but they were worth opening. She spoiled Grace with clothes for this fall/winter (they are all so cute!!!)
Grandma and Grandpa B also got her this butterfly light which she loves. I leave it on in her room at night. It has been awesome at helping put her to sleep.
Silly Lady just enjoying her day!

Papa trying on the hair Mimi got for Grace. She kept trying to put it on him so finally he just did-and I caught him!!
The Princess of our lives!
Papa and Grandma E got her this vacuum. It is awesome! They also got her a really cute Dora doll.
Grace took a break before the party to play hide and seek dinosaur. This is her favorite spot and she hides here everytime.
Spending time with Mimi. She helped so much with this cake-again-thank you! It really made it special for Grace.
Grace loves Barbies-so Mimi found her Barbie Clothes. They are Awesome!!!
Grace also loves Princess Rapunzel. Mimi got her hooked on the movie so it is kind of a cute thing they share. She got her this hair and Grace thinks it is so funny.
It turned out to be a great day and very special. It just isn't often that she gets to be the one and only star of the show for all of her grandparents on the same day. I appreciate that they all came to share the day even though the big party was cancelled. I can't believe she is almost two. I love you so much Pie!!!
