Right on Schedule

We had our doctors appointment this morning. Our little one is measuring right on schedule, so there, all you crazy people who think I am too big. She is healthy and happy and still very relaxed. I do think she is starting to turn though which is very exciting!
I try to be crafty for some reason now that I have a little one on the way and try to do things that I see other people do. I recently covered this wipes case. I think it will be kind of fun and will make hers stand out from the other kiddies!

Why do people think this is okay?

I don't understand sometimes what people are thinking. Last week I was out shopping and during my time five people came up to me (total strangers) and made comments along these lines: "Any day now huh", or "Just waiting on the baby now, I bet you are really excited", "Are you expecting your baby this week?" or talking behind my back saying "Now that's a baby." I wonder how they would have responded if I would have replied with, "no actually I still have two months left", rather than just trying to be polite and say "yes, I am very excited." I thought maybe it was the shirt that I was wearing (that once had pleats in the front, but no longer), but then again this morning in an entirely different shirt (black in fact, which should be slimming) some of the ladies here at the school were talking about how big my belly was and just how tight it looked. Then the one lady said, "and she has two months left, can you believe it?" Then asked me if my doctor thought I was going to come early. I just smiled and said I didn't know. The next secretary then informed me that her daughter in law was pregnant and due the first of August and yes my belly was much bigger than hers (at least she made me feel a little better by telling me her Daughters was getting wider not necessarily out). I just can't figure it out. Why do people think this is okay. Don't they realize that they could maybe ask "when are you due?" and then tell me how great I look (even if I don't). What is wrong with people! Yes I have a big belly, yes I am pregnant, yes it is very tight, but my baby is healthy and right on her growing expectations and so am I.

Weekend in Wayne

We went to Wayne County for the weekend for all of the fun festivities! We had a really great time. Friday was the kids parade were they rode their bikes

And rode on a float up to the park. Miles didn't like it very much. Then at the park they had a really good bar-b-que then the kids got to try and catch fish out of the runs with their hands. This was the best part! Grandma stole the fish from the kids so she could have breakfast (just kidding, someone gave them to her, but we were teasing her about it, and made her pose for a picture. She cracks me up)Kolt got all of the way into the tank for this beauty! He was soaked!Miah and her fish.Miles and his fish. Miles and Miah waiting for the fish to come. Later that night was the BIFF (Bicknell International Film Festival). This year the theme was mobs and titled "Bada Bing Bada Biff". We went out that night to the band and party. Art dressed like the scene from the godfather in case you are wondering. He was quite the hit and ended up taking pictures with random people all night long. We really had a great time!Elessa and I before. We enjoyed it. (I was asked by some stranger why I would put a baloon in my costume, then she rubbed my belly and said "oh wait, that's a real baby" I responded with yes indeed it was a real baby. She seemed embarrassed and tried to explain it was just because it was so round. Seriously people)Art, Me, Elessa, and MikeThe next Day was Miah's birthday party. She got this great princess jeep. She loved it. She was so cute. her dress/shirt fit okay. (so much for having no measurments, it turned out okay) Kolt trying to look like his Auntie. He said he was due any day!
We had a great time. It was a lot of fun to see all of the family and just hang out.

Making Choices

Yesterday Art and I went to meet with a potential Surgeon for our little girl when she arrives. It is a huge decision and we wanted to make sure that we made the best choice for our little girl. It is very scary to think that this decision will affect her forever. I started by doing a lot of research. I looked at history, awards, pictures, and even talked to a lot of parents locally who had gone with different surgeons. We decided that we really wanted to go with the best, and found out that was Dr. Morales. I had heard that his work is fantastic, but that his bedside manner isn't the best. We wanted to make sure we found the best person so we decided to go and meet with Dr. Morales. We met with him yesterday and I have to say that I loved him. He is fantastic, has amazing results, and he is very direct. We didn't feel that he had bad bedside manner at all. He was very to the point and I trust him very much. I can't tell you the relief I feel having finally made the decision of who we are going to work with. As scary as it still is to think about, I know we have found the best surgeon for our little girl.
Also yesterday when I arrived home (I love snowcones right now) my snow cone syrup had arrived. What a great way to end the day!

Grace's Nursery!

I just thought I would finally share some pictures from Grace's Nursery. I think I finally have it all together. Art and I have worked really hard on it. Now we am just waiting for the little one to come (although she needs to grow for a little while longer).

Third Trimester Class

Over the weekend Art and I went to the Third Trimester Class at our hospital. (Can't believe I am 31 weeks) I found it very beneficial and am really glad that we went. Although I am still very nervous I feel much more prepared for the entire process. "my baby is perfectly sized for my body!" In the class there were three other couples whose due date was September 21. The sad thing was that my belly was bigger than any of theirs and bigger than most of the people due in August. I guess she just likes to go straight out! Here is Art and I outside of the hospital. Also I am now sitting on this at work. It is supposed to help my back feel better and so far I think that it does. I now have one at work and one at home (just in case I don't get to grab it from work before I go to the hospital! They said just to make sure it is 90 degree angle for your knees, for me that meant a 65 cm ball.

Miles Hinkle

This little man came to visit me last night. He followed Art around calling out his name and then we rolled balls back and forth while he said ball and baby. (maybe he thought my belly looked like a ball-so funny) What a cute little man! Thanks Pete for letting me crawl around with my nephew. Love you Miles!

Fun Family Weekend and Missing!

We had a great family get together this weekend. We all went camping at Millsite. The guys golfed and we all boated and fished and ate great food. Miah and Art talked Chinese all weekend (I still don't know what they were saying, and I am pretty sure they didn't either-but it was funny). We only got rained on for one afternoon (what is camping without a little rain). We caught a few fish and just enjoyed our time together.
Art Tori and I!Dado and MaryAmber, Kyle, Kolt and Miah (notice Miah's face, she wouldn't smile.)Art and IElessa, Michael, and MilesThe Sisters! I love them!We played Corn Hole and had a good time. Amber and Elessa are Naturals!Miles playing with Grandpa. Alayna loves this shirt because it reminds her of Grandpa, so I made sure I got a picture. I thought it was a so cute!Art driving the boat! I love boating!! (And Art!)
Tori Loves to Fish!I love this picture of her bringing the fish in that Amber caught. Her eyes are closed, she looks so cute. One day I think she will look back on this and laugh! What a doll!Alayna, loves to swim!Miah, well she does what she does, and Kolt loves all of it!Amber swam in the cold water-seriously it was cold!Elessa made me get a picture behind a tree, kind of funny!
We had a great time! I love camping, especially with the family.
As for the missing-Tori went home today after we have had her for a month. It was really fun to have her and we are really going to miss her. She is so good with little ones, she is going to be a great big sister. She was very cute with Grace and got to feel her kick a few times. Love you Tori, we will miss you! Can't wait to see you in a couple of months!

Oh Kids!!!

Last night we had our nieces (Alayna and Melina) over to play with Tori. They were all swimming around in the hot tub (as it is more pool temperature than hot tub-yet still great). They were all seeing who could hold their breath the longest. I ran in the house to grab something and when I come back out I hear them all counting, so I walk around the corner and here is Art, standing on the outside of the hot tub with his head over the edge and in the water. The girls are all laughing. I wish I had my camera (but alas it was charging). I love that I have someone who is not only willing to play with the young ones, but enjoys it. He even let me go to bed early and hung out with them until they went to bed! Thanks Art-I love you!

Golfing!

Last night we went golfing at the club. Art, Me, Tori and Todd went. It was so much fun! I love playing with these guys. We were on the 6th hole, a 543 yard par five, when Art gets up to hit. He swings and drives the ball, middle of the fairway to the 150 yard marker. That is a 393 yard drive. That is crazy!!! He used a wedge to put the ball on the green. I could have died. I think we need to sign him up for long drive competitions~~
It may have taken me four hits to reach his one, but I am getting my money's worth right! Isn't that what golf is all about?
Also we finally got Tori to play for a minute, and she was really quite good. she hit the ball every time! Usually she just likes to drive the cart and look cute (which she still prefers) but she did a good job playing too! Way to go Tori! I didn't bring my camera, but I got these with my phone (they didn't work very well-it looks like she may be playing underwater golf, but I can assure you the grass was green!!)
