Swine Flu Panic

Hearing that there is a case of the Swine Flu here in Utah. Panic has officially set in. I have heard that the worst cases and individuals who should be very concerned (because they can't take the vaccine) are Pregnant Women and children under the age of 1. I am trying to figure out if I should stay home for a couple of days out of West High and the revolving door. Ugh... Panic!

Let's go for a jog!

So I am just putting this out there to anyone who wants to join me.

1-All of you in Wayne County-I am coming down this weekend and am planning to do the Powerplant 2 mile walk (I know there is also a 10k run for those of you ready to go that far, but I just don't think I will make it) so walk/jog/chat/catch up in the two miles is what I am really looking for, so come join me on Saturday.

2-Race for the cure is just around the corner. It is May 9 and will be a ton of fun! It is such a cool atmosphere. It is a 5k run, of course I will be jogging, but hey, the intent is there!

Hope to see you out there!

Monumental!

It is a monumental moment when your pregnant belly finally sticks out farther than your boobs and people can now realize for sure that you are pregnant and not just drinking too much beer! Yeah go baby!

Also at our Copper Club Golf Course that Art and I are members of, they had the grand opening of the new 19th hole bar and grill this weekend. (which is also monumental-you should see the changes) It was a lot of fun and I think it is going to be a really great place to enjoy the NFL this winter as well. Go Colts!

Cars are Stupid

So last weekend Art was driving down the road (in the rain mind you) when a big huge semi tire blocked his path going down the road. When he arrived home that night, we didn't think there was a lot of damage, but we knew we had to get it fixed, and soon. We dropped the car of on Monday, where I alone wasted $900.00. Yes I am still feeling that one. I previously had hit a pipe coming out of the ground (Yes I find the strangest things to hit, like the national monument, but that is a story for another day) and it dinged up the bottom of my door pretty good. The lady was walking around the car, and wrote down that ding on the bottom of my door to be included in the bid, so what do I do......I correct her and inform her that if that is going to be fixed, it will have to be payment by us, not the insurance. (What is wrong with me???) Anyway we got a phone call yesterday from the place that is fixing our car and 8000.00 in damage later, we won't be getting my car back until May 13. Seriously May 13??? And after not having it for a week already. Being the pregnant emotional person that I am right now. I got angry, shed real tears, and refused to talk on the entire ride home with Art. Not that I was mad at him, I just didn't want to cry. This him bringing me to work and picking me up is getting really old. 10 hour days, not being able to leave for lunch, or stop at the store on the way home, really sucks.

So then I go home yesterday to paint my new surprise (to be shared later-for the nursery) and yes I did it outside and wore a mask... I go to pull on my previously considered "big pants" You know the ones you wore before just around the house for cleaning and yardwork, yeah those, and they were tight (are you kidding me??) I thought most of the weight I had gained was just in my belly, but no, it is now progressing downward as if that is necessary for the baby to be able to survive, but whatever!

I also had to spend 20 bucks yesterday (that includes shipping, and I know that isn't the end of the world, but it adds up) for some rediculously expensive, but safe bug spray as I got eaten by mosquitos playing golf on Monday and didn't dare use Deet.

Although on a positive note. I have been feeling my little lady off and on for the last couple of weeks, but for the last two days, I can feel her all the time. She likes to play around 4 in the morning. She is obviously her fathers child, because I am so not a morning person. She also likes to move around a lot in the afternoon, I ask her sometimes exactly where she thinks she is going to go, but no answer in return, although I am sure I do manage to freak out the students who are watching me talk to myself through the window. They would probably be more freaked out if they walked in my office and listened to the instrumental lullaby's coming from my computer (hey I hear it is good for the wee one)

All in all things are going well. I just realize how thankful I am to have a car. This whole not having one, really sucks!

Pregnancy Exercise Must Haves!

I have figured out a couple of things over the past few months, that I consider Pregnancy Exercise Must Haves. I thought I would share for those of you who are pregnant, or are considering it in the future. I do mostly jogging as basketball and MMA are now out of the question and the pools aren't open yet, so if I did something else, my list may be different, but for now.

#1: Maternity Support Belt. Through my research, and I am very happy with it, specifically the Loving Comfort Maternity Support Belt.
Seen Here:

(sorry the picture isn't great, the pink blends a little with the white, but it does make my belly look smaller)
You can find these at Baby's R Us or online at Loving Comfort Maternity Support - All Sizes

#2: Shoe Lace Clips. I am already having a hard time reaching my shoes (wait that was even before I got pregnant, oh well) and so I have found great comfort in the shoe lace clip that my sister got me at a triathlon one day (Thanks Pete). My running shoes are the only ones that I have to tie each time I put them on, or I would probably have them on every shoe that I own.
Seen Here: You can find these at any triathlon event at a booth, at a sports store or online. These aren't exactly the same, you get the entire lace and they are a little more, but you can order them on Amazon (for those of you who live a ways from a sports store!) Lock Laces

#3 My Metal Sigg Water Bottle: With all of the scary things that can happen during pregnancy (that we recently discovered) You want to stay away from all of the plastic that you can. This waterbottle is awesome. You can find them at sports stores, their website, or amazon Sigg Lifestyle Loop Top Water Bottle (1.0-Liters) They can be a little pricey but they are worth it for your little one.

#4: A humidifier: for me I have to have a humidifier in my room at night to help with my breathing. With Asthma I need to have all passages clear, and as you know, they can get a little clogged when you are pregnant.

#5: For days when you just don't want to run, I found a DVD that I actually like. At first I didn't think it did very much, but I felt it the next day and it definitely helps stretch those hips, which I am sure is a good thing. She is a little cheesy, but it is fun: Erin O'Brien's Prenatal Fitness Fix

#6: My Ipod. I am not sure how I worked out without this thing in the past. It is definitely easier than running with a CD player trying to keep it from bouncing or those old cassette things. Love it!

Now if we can just figure out how to put earphones in the maternity support belt to pump music to baby so she can jam as I do, oh and about those bathrooms along the way, it would be great if I didn't have to stop on someones lawn or knock on their door (No I didn't do that, seriously people) but I have thought about it!!!

Also I went golfing last night, and realized I need one of these: ZTech Ball Pick Up
I am going to purchase this soon.

If you have any other great suggestions, please share!!

Such a Busy Week!

This last week was so busy I didn't have time to blog, so here you go. We got Miss Tori for Easter all the way from Phoenix. We had a really great time. We did Easter Egg Hunts in the back yard. The Boxall's are quite competative when it comes to these hunts and as you can see, they kind of tend to forget there are kids involved, so we had to remind them. Two years ago the hunt ended with Art and his brother Mike both Bleeding, so you know that they are passionate. It does make for a lot of fun though!

Once we reminded them that Tori was there, they layed off a little and she actually got more eggs, so it worked out well! She had a great time!
Then on Monday I got my girl Alayna for the night. She didn't get to hunt eggs so we did a hunt for her as well. She then hid them for me and I laughed really hard. I think they were hid in groups of 7, if you call it hiding. But we had fun! She loves playing Hide and Seek with Art so they played that for an hour two that evening as well. Thanks Art for being such a great sport!
My Dad ended up having Two surgeries this week so I spent a lot of time at the hospital with him. Even though he wasn't feeling well I really love spending time with my Dad. It turned out well when they finally got it right and hope he recovers quickly.

Amber and Kyle ran this weekend. Kyle ran the Marathon and Amber ran the Half. It was so much fun running around to catch them (although I was really jealous that I wasn't participating). They are such a great couple and I am so glad that she found Kyle.

Here is Kyle feeling great during the run.

And Amber about half way. She did Awesome!!!

Amber Finishing. She couldn't see me or I am sure she would have made a funny face. She finished in great time, ahead of her goal.

The cute couple after finishing. I am so proud of them. It was so much fun. We then went back and watched the UFC fights with friends that night.
Kyle made this cute flower planter for our yard. Those of you who spend any time at our house, know how Art loves his yard (and I love my park). He was so excited about this new piece. Kyle is quite Handy! Thanks!
Art then spent Sunday up at the Copper Club (the golf club that Art and I are members of, we love it) He helped them put in new sod and take out some trees. I ran up there that afternoon to see the new things they had done to the clubhouse, bar and restaurant. I have to say that I actually passed the missionaries who were walking down the road (so what if they had stopped to talk to someone, I totally passed them). Not to mention I think missionaries suddenly get this super walking power that makes them extra fast so I don't think they count, but they did let me know, that I really am slow these days, remember the 85 year old man, yep still me!!

Steady Machete

So over the weekend Art and I went to watch the Hofer boys band play. They are called Steady Machete and are awesome. Highly recommend you go out and see them. Also we played a round of golf on Sunday and I have a lot of work to do. But the weather was great and it was nice to get out and walk 9 holes.

Weekend

So over the weekend we went up to Boise to get a hot tub (yes I realize that I can't get into it until October, but still). So I got to make the uncomfortable ride all the way up there in this:
It was quite a sight to see all of the guys picking this thing up to put it in the truck, just to meet a whole new set of them to lift it out and onto our patio. It was all worth it though!!! Jackson thought the truck was pretty cool. Notice the ping pong ball in his hand. He wouldn't let that go all weekend. It was cracking me up.
And baby Art is growing so fast. He is getting cuter everyday.
