Boys and Girls

We ventured to Wayne for the weekend so the boys could have a day out. They went Ice Fishing, bowling, and played basketball and tennis. During that time. Grace loved on baby Leah (yes she still loves a little fiercly. She tried to pick her up once (obviously we were all right there) but I came to the conclusion that Grace either thinks her babies are real, or that all babies are dolls. Not sure. But she really loves them (her doll sat next to her in a chair at lunch today-so there you go!) We had some breakfast at the Sunglow.

And just spent some really fun Girl Time!

Grace and Miles ran around the tennis courts while the boys played and then played outside on Miles' swing set.

This little man makes me laugh!

And her too. Little slide lady!

We went to the "coutique" there in Lyman and found some squeeky shoes and this little dress that Grace just loves and didn't want to take off. So girlie! Not sure what she is doing here, but it probably was after her falling down and now she is just being dramatic.

These two are so close. I just love that they have so much fun together. Miles hates when we leave and "take his gracie away from him" He always insists that we "bring her back". While crying and tearing my heart into little pieces. you know....Love you Miles!

Grace fell too. She and Miles were jumping on the bed and she fell into the wall. See Miles is showing where her owie is.

She is super tough though and left the bandaid on all night (notice that she also stuck a bandaid still in the wrapper on the other cheek) Silly Pie!

Shoes and "Bee Bee's"

Grace LOVES theses shoes. She tries to get me to let her wear them everynight. She brings them to me and stomps her foot, points, and tells me socks. Silly lady!
On another note. We visited with our surgeon today on a follow up visit. He says Grace is looking great! Which she does. You would never know she even had surgery. I am just amazed at how amazing Dr. Morales is and what a great person he is as well. We had a long discussion about the "bee bee" (binky). Grace is becomming quite attached so I know it will be difficult to get her to stop. I have been very selfish in this however. I pushed the binkie on her because her surgeon said that it would help with the scar tissue. So I encouraged her to enjoy it. I can't tell you how many times I have been put down by others telling me that I was a bad parent, and having them walk up and pull it out of her mouth. I have tried very hard to be kind and polite to these people because obviously they don't understand. They are people I see commonly but not people that I care to talk to or associate with so what they think really doesn't matter. Because of this I have wanted to take her binkie away (this and watching other (much) older children with their binkie that I think probably shouldn't have it as it is most likely affecting their teeth). So I wanted to take it away, so it wouldn't be harder for me later (and for her) and I wouldn't have to deal with people's comments anymore. Instead however, I let her keep it dealing with the rude people, and knowing it would be difficult later. I have finally been given the green light to let the binkie go. It makes me sad knowing just how much the binkie has helped her and soothed her during this last difficult year, and I just think she is so cute with it in her mouth. Plus maybe it helps in my mind to feel she is still my teeny tiny lady. But now, we start the weaning process, and in time we will be "bee bee" free. I know I will look back on this one day and think "oh that binkie, what a small thing to worry about it, it was no big deal" even though right now it is pretty big to me.

Shaye's Birthday!

We went to Shaye's birthday party at Build a Bear. Grace took forever to choose what she wanted, but loved her Hello Kitty. She was very protective and when someone from the store (that she didn't know) took the kitty (such as to stuff it or sew it) She flipped out crying. Like so.....
Hello Kitty! Shaye had a great time!
She loved "washing" her kitty
Happy Birthday Shaye!
Grace loved the cupcakes.

On Another Note This Blanket came with Kipper the Dog for Christmas. Grace has become very attached it. It has become he "blankie, woobie etc". It drives me crazy and makes me laugh and happy at the same time. It is so her to pick this over all of the cute and fun blankets that I and others have made for her.
She drags it everywhere and had a major meltdown when I told her she couldn't take it into the tub with her.
She likes to wear it as a cape.
She also has to have it when she sleeps. Cute little thing!Go Dog Go. Grace loves reading. What a cute girl!

Chickens and Dancing

Grace has been known to lick her plate. Usually when I am not paying attention. So the other day when I wasn't watching she really went to town. I thought it was too cute not to save. We went to Wayne for a couple of days. Grace really wanted to see the ducks (chickens) that run around Grandpa's house, but they kept running away from her. So she settled for looking at the pigs.
Okay maybe a little too close buddy.
and the Llama's.
She spent a little time jumping on the tramp (and bed), and going down the slide.
We went down to see Miah at her dance recital. She was so cute!!
Grace thought it was very fun.
Leah was even excited. It must be a girl thing. (check out the cute sisters in their fur coats)
Diva....
Miah was dancing on stage and Grace was dancing in the stands. I guess I will have to get her into dance soon.

We had so much fun. Miah was so cute. She wanted me to fix her hair so I did. I just love that little lady! I am so glad we are close enough to get to be involved in these things sometimes.

Fresh Living on TV

We were on Fresh Living today. It was a lot of fun and turned out really good I think. (except for the deer in the headlights look at the beginning when I didn't know we were recording-but hey there has to be something!) Grace was on the whole time too. She did great! Here is the link:

New Shoes, New Friends, and Fun Family!

Elessa and Mike came up last night and brought Grace these shoes. She loves them and didn't want to take them off. Oh I love the rainbows and so does Grace. She even brought them out today to have them put on.
David was a huge part of my life growing up. We lost contact over the past couple of years, and are not back in touch. He came over to visit Elessa and I and to meet our kids.
The kids took right to him and wanted to hang out with him. It was so much fun. We have really missed him and we talk about him often. Miles is so cute. He told me that this picture was so cute (right after I took it, before he even saw it-too cute!) Grace loves her uncle Mike and reading with him especially. It is so fun to have them here!

The Big Time Begins

I received a call last night that the TV station wanted to come over and do a pre story at our house today. I was panicked. I know it sounds silly but I really wanted to get my hair done. So I found someone good who could do it this morning. I was told on the phone it would probably be around 80 dollars. I know that probably isn't bad, but for me that is really spending some money, but I decided it was worth it. I went it and really enjoyed myself. I went up to pay and they charged me $150.00!!! I cried. Really I just didn't know what to do. They claimed it was because "I have so much hair" so it took longer than it normally does. What a croc. Unfortunately for me...I really liked it. Anyway they came over later to do a quick pre story on Me, Grace, and even Art got in there (which I was glad). It wasn't what I was expecting being that I was told a crew was coming so I was even more nervous, but just the lady showed up with a really fancy cell phone camera. I didn't even know she was recording half of the time so I am sure I sound like an idiot. But it was cool and I am looking forward to Monday. Fresh Living KUTV2 at 1:00 PM Here I Come!!

Fun at Work

Grace is just the star of the show at work. People just love her, and she just loves them. This is Bob. He is security at the school and Grace loves him. He is right across the hall from me, so she gets to see him often. Last night at the game he let her talk into his walkie (really people could hear her) She thought it was so funny.
Sue feeds Grace M&M's (she says it is okay because she is teaching her colors). Grace loves being in her office. even after the candy is gone.
Today they learned Blue. Grace loves the Blue ones best. She would get really excited and fist her hands and yell Blue.
Then Laugh. She was so proud of herself!

2011 the good and bad so far

2011 will be a great year. We are determined to make it so. This far though, it has already started out with a few challenges. First and foremost, Tori had to go back to Arizona. Grace was a bit of a stinker her last night here, but woke up asking for her the next day. She was gone though on her plane. That night though she stamped her face. Kind of gave her hugs.
Gave her kisses.
And had her read to her.
They are so cute together. Grace loves her so much and is really missing her. So am I.
The good: I am hoping the Honeycuffs are going to take off. I have some positive leads and a TV interview...more to come.
I also tried Skype for the first time (The video conferencing over the computer). LOVE IT!!! Grace enjoyed it too, she talked to Miles, Aunt Pete, and Mimi and really enjoyed it (Why haven't I done this earlier?)
The bad-we already had to buy four new tires for my car. Seriously???? (I know I shouldn't complain that really is nothing compared to what some people are going through, but it wasn't a fun purchase) I really am very lucky in so many ways! Welcome 2011!
