First Dance Class

Grace went to her first dance class last night. She had so much fun and was so excited to go!
Being silly and sticking out her belly!Doing a Spin! She was actually pretty good for a first time and was able to keep up with the other girls, who had been there alittle longer. She is so fun!Playing the Bean Bag Game. Then to come home and read her "special" book with Dad. He got her one of the "read to me" story books that records his voice. She loves it!

Weekend Fun

We had a good/quiet weekend and home. It was really nice. Grace and I made Monster Cookies. (and a mess)
Grace threatened to pour water on me (look at that mischevious face).
Just a cute little girl.Daddy is learning DUI testing at school so he came home and practiced. (on me too-only later)Then Grace practiced on him.She tried on his shooting Ear Muffs-and sang loudly while wearing them. It was funny!
Mimi is making hats for my girls basketball team (and Grace and I) so we tried them on for size. We played and had some silly times!Little dorks here! And this is my favorite face (usually pulled right before she does something she shouldn't or starts to be sassy and then ends up laughing at me-it just makes me happy!)We finally replaced her Piggy and she got to put her piggy money back in. We were walking in Target when she called this piggy hers from a long way away. She loves it!We also got Pie signed up for Dance class. She is so excited and she tried on her outfits and shoes (and even skyped to show up). She shakes her bumb really good and is working on her steps and pointing her toes. She is so excited! When we showed up at the dance place to sign her up, she walked right into an older girls class and grabbed a hula hoop and started dancing with them. They loved her (she has no fear). Can't wait to see her dancing!Dinosaur or Dancer...hmm....maybe both!

Clouds

Grace and I were driving yesterday when she told me that the clouds looked like a mommy and baby elephant and that she wanted to go and float on the Mommy! We took a picture out the window (even though they looked better a little further back) with her camera. How sweet is that story!?!When I went to pull the picture today I saw so many other cute ones of Grace. She often has the camera backwards. Look at this cute lady and her beautiful features. She makes me so happy! She really is quite and artistic photographer if I do say so myself!

No more clothes today!

Using her brain again, my little Pie girl had an accident at Daycare and peed her pants. When I changed her clothes I told her, "these are the last pants, so you can't go in them again today." An hour later when I went down she peed again. She then informed me "No more pants, I guess I get to go home". What a smart little thing. I laughed hard (found her more pants and made her stay) but thought, wouldn't it be great if we could all just pee ourselves and get to go home for the day? She is too smart for her own good!

Smart as a Whip

Grace is so smart. She sucks everything in and learns so much from the world around her. I am amazed by her everyday. She makes me laugh how she imitates what the girls do at practice and is learning quite a bit about basketball. But she is far advanced for her age. Here are some examples:
  • She already fakes sick when she wants to stay home
  • Yesterday when she wasn't listening at the store, I told her she had to put her candy back on the shelf-she attempted to negotiate (I'll go to timeout when I get home for not listening, but I get to keep the candy)
  • She is amazing on electronics: (she can turn on my phone, unlock it, slide and find any of her games, above that, she can find the youtube, search, find caillou in the search list and choose one of his movies-pretty amazing. On dad's touchpad she knows where all her games are-above that she can open the internet, go to favorites and select her ABCmouse)
  • She remembers things, for example, she lost her pen to her disney books under our dresser, the next morning she went right there asking for it when she started to read. Or the fact that Grandpa Box puts some chocolates in a bowl, and everytime she gets one she says "I'm eating Papa's Chocolate)
  • She knows how to get out of/or stay in any situation. I won't deny her a hug or kiss so it is a great tactic for her when she doesn't want to go to bed.
  • She knows which is her right hand and which is her left.
  • She knows which markers can be used on which surface (dry erase v. paper)
  • She makes her own phone calls, she knows how to slide until she finds names on my phone and then picks people by their pictures.
  • Last night she decided she didn't want Daddy to work anymore, but just stay home with her. I explained to her that Daddy has to work so we can pay for our house that we love so much-that night when saying our prayers she said "Thanks for Daddy's Job, Mommy's Job, Pie's Job and for our house"-all without prompting. (We say it sometimes, but I usually tell her, this time she owned it and I was so proud.
  • She is excellent at matching games, knows all her shapes and colors, and most of her letters and animals (as well as their sounds).
  • She has a great imagination and is already a champ at pretend (dinosaurs, monsters, mommy is shrek pie is donkey etc.)
  • She loves to read and is already making up stories that go with the pictures so she can read to me. She also is a champ at her disney pen and understands how to turn it on and how it works.
  • She not only goes pee in the potty, she wipes and only gets as much paper as she needs, she blows her nose all by herself, and brushes-and spits!
  • She can "mostly" dress herself and can undress herself and put her clothes in the hamper (she always says "Pie Do It Myself")
  • She is simply amazing. She understands and thinks of things that kids her age just don't do (at least not that I have seen) She is by the far the smartest in our family-I think she got the best of the brains from both her mommy and her daddy.

I just love this little lady, She challenges me and teaches me new things each day. So lucky to have her!

Bringing in the New Year!

We have gone to the rec center a couple of times this year. Grace loves going to play there. She loves shopping and pushing around the cart. She even enjoyed playing in the tunnels and with the punching bags.

We also had Shaye this weekend and it was really fun. The girls (and Art) did some dancing.

And we played at the rec center again.

In the Spaceship tunnel. They were so cute and played really well together all weekend.
