Little Miss Marvelous

I know every post is about Grace-but this blog is about my life, and it kind of revolves around her at the moment. But I just have to say she is so smart. She got this toy from the B Grandparents for Christmas and I am so impressed. She knows what makes the lights and sounds, so she puts one foot on the blue plate that lifts and makes sounds, and one foot on the thing in front that spins, and moves them so she has sound going all of the time, Then she has her hands free to play with the toys-Really quite impressive. (by the way I had to change her clothes yesterday and I put on these blue butterfly pants for the first time-she loves them and keeps staring at them-a girl after my own heart!

She is starting to try and sit up on her own. She is a little bent over here, but she is all by herself-go big lady!!!

She has also started pitching little fits-especially when she is really tired but doesn't want to go to sleep. She will bow back just as hard as she can. When she is standing up she will throw her head back-seriously it kills me-I don't know where it comes from. She is a tough little girl! So proud!
Her keys are her favorite toy right now. She loves flinging them around. Sometimes she hits herself or others, but she still loves them!

Thank Goodness for Good Friends

Grace was in daycare today and apparently having a melt down. Val went down to check on her daughter Shaye and heard Grace crying so of course she swooped over and grabbed her and then called me on the phone (not sure why they hadn't called me yet-but I let them know I wasn't happy). It was so nice to have Val checking on her for me. When I got down there Shaye was crying too. She was so worried about Grace she started crying because "her friend was sad" . She just needed her mom and stopped the second I got her. She fell asleep shortly after so I sat her in her carseat by my desk-and she is too cute when she sleeps. I love how she puts her hands behind her head. She is also blowing bubbles like crazy-It cracks me up! So glad that I caught it on camera!

Sweet Dreams

As a mother I hope for nothing less than sweet dreams for my little lady. I think this encompasses so many things-if she has sweet dreams (both day and night) this means that she is surrounded by good positive things, she is happy, she believes in herself, and she knows she is loved. Well last night as she was sleeping she was smiling and laughing, and even trying to talk outloud. I loved it. I wish that I would have recorded it, but I was too caught up in the moment. It made me feel that maybe I am doing something right .
She laughs a lot which is a good thing, (she loves the camera, she looks at it and poses, whenever she sees it-sometimes it is hard to get her to focus on what we are wanting her to keep doing-silly little lady)

She is always proud of herself (you can see it on her face) when she does something new and awesome-like holding her feet! I just am so in love with her!

Lady Panthers

This year my girls team did so well. I was so proud of them. We were in a very stacked tournament. Even though we should have been in the opposite bracket our girls played very well. We beat Park City in the first round and then played Wasatch in the second. We played Wasatch for the championship last year, and we were both undefeated in league play this year. We were up by one in the last seconds of the game when the ref (I say the, because they only had one for some reason) called a nit picky foul on one of our girls and put them into 1 and1. They made both of their baskets and went up by one. We put up a shot in the last second, but didn't make it and we lost. I was so dissapointed for the girls. We then played Judge Memorial and beat them to take 3rd place. What a great team this year! It was so much fun and great close to the season. I love coaching and especially love coaching with Val! Way to go Lady Panthers!

It is Official

The Business License came in the mail over the weekend. Honey Cuffs L.L.C. is now official! I can't wait. By the way here is a sneak peak picture of my little lady in a HoneyCuffs patent pending arm restraint system. They are currently getting made in China and the website is currently under construction. I am so excited!

Good Weekend

My Grandma is doing much better and has been moved to Gunnison. She is so tough! Maycee, Ashley's daughter, cracks me up. You saw her drawing on the last post. She drew a few more at the hospital. My grandma was very vocal that they just weren't as good as the first one. Every time though, she draws a doghouse and it always had Nick's name on it. It makes me laugh.
We then had some fun visitors. Grandma and Grandad Boxall came into town. Grace had a great time with them.
She was reading/eating/reading a lot!

I still can't believe it!

My Grandma Taylor is an amazing and strong woman. On Tuesday morning around 11:30 AM the johavas witness missionaries knocked on her door and when she stood up to answer the door, she ended up with a leg (her femur just below the hip) on the ground. She called out and told them to come in. When they came in, she told them that she had fallen and couldn't get up. So what did they do???? Well they gave her their little speech, put the phamplets on the table and left her there. Is that not crazy!!! How can any person see an elderly woman on the floor especially one that says "I have fallen and cannot get up" and leave her there. I just am in shock. It was 7 hours later that my aunt found her there.
She had surgery and is doing well now. She came out of surgery saying she had just a ball and a marvelous time (see what I say about her being tough). She also loved that all of her family came to the hospital, it was like a family reunion and she just loved seeing her kids. (Wow-I just love this lady). Anyways, we stayed down there.
Grace took a bath in the sink (yes it was cleaned and sanitized):

Smiled while getting dressed:

And read with her mimi:

We looked at the picture that Maycee (Ashley's little girl) drew on the board. It is so creative and it cracks me up that the name on the doghouse is Nick (that is her dad).

Grace then slept at the motel-so precious.

and check out her wild hair. It is getting so long!

Mini Olympics

We have been very much enjoying watching the olympics. Grace has been competing in some Olympics of her own. Although I have yet to catch the binkie shooting on camera (she does spit it out very far when she is done with it, very impressive) She is also the leading contender in ball kicking and toe grabbing. I have caught the:

Tummy Time Holding our head up and doing baby pushups:

Sometime when we lose, we cry (mommy will have to teach us sportsmanship I guess).

leg kick swimming:

One leg at a time bouncing while talking (haven't quite got the jumping down yet-but we are working on it)

Mommy says: "Gold Medals all around!"

I think maybe Grace gets her cheeks from my mom.

Five Months

Grace is Five Months Old Today! I can't believe it has already been five months. She has already grown so much. She is talking like crazy now. She loves her bath and kicking her feet and splashing. She still loves reading and music.(playing her piano) She loves kicking her ball on the floor-is getting a little better at tummy time. She loves her plastic keys, her cell phone, and her baby the best. At the last appointment before we flew she was 15 lbs 8 ounces and 27.5 inches long. She makes me laugh and I love how her little nose crinkles up when she gets really happy. She has started pinching-I think it is her way of showing love, but sometimes it hurts. She is also getting toys all on her own, and has started rubbing my face when I talk to her. She has found her tongue and sticks it out a lot! I just love this little lady. I am so glad that she chose me to be her Mommy. Love you Grace!!

Houston is a Bust

Starting at the beginning: We fly out early Sunday morning to go to Houston for a conference. I had high hopes. I wanted to write this post on Friday prior to the Superbowl, so here it is:
Just Discussing the Game:
Wondering when it is going to be on:
Showing off our team flare-Go Colts:
But we weren't able to get online to post, when we got to the hotel they wanted $13 to connect for a day-crazy-not worth it just so I could post on my blog. So oh well. (probably why they lost) So Grace was able to go on her first flight and she was a little Angel. People just love her:
We arrived in Houston and went to walk around by the hotel and nothing was open, and no restaurants were close. We were surrounded by homeless people and ended up spending a near fortune for a small meal at the hotel bar-seriously! Grace did look so cute though in her new Princess shirt from Dad.
The only good part of Houston was Tessa. We were able to meet her and Livi for dinner at a great Mexican Restaurant called Chuy's. But of course with the style of our trip, her husband Phil was sick and couldn't come with us. I have to admit that the part of Houston we got to see with Tessa while driving, was actually quite nice. I wish we could have explored that a little more. We had to fly out a day early to get back to a funeral. We lost my cousin Ernesto. He was a husband and father of two little boys. He will be greatly missed. The services were lovely. We Dad spoke very well and the men all looked amazing dressed in Blue. So sad, but it was a wonderful service for him. We did get to see all of our family and that was the only happy part of the entire experience. Grace looked so pretty in her dress. And my sisters stayed for our basketball game. The girls beat Highland. Miles and I got to play together and he sat on the coaches bench for a minute. I sure love him! Thanks to my sisters and their husbands for their support (and of course Art who is there quite often!) Because of the crappy flight, I now have Vertigo and am dizzy all of the time. We got charged for local calls when we tried to order in Pizza, and the very worst part, is that the conference didn't even teach me anything new. I know I am complaining, but it was seriously one of the worst trips/weeks ever.
