Buying our home

I am not sure I can ever put into words what the process of buying our new home was really like.  For me, it was a lesson in appreciation at the very least.  We found this home in Heber City in April, prior to moving out of our home in Magna.  We put in our offer and had plans to close on May 20.  We did everything we could do to meet that deadline and we were told that we would, however, the mortgage loan officer made a mistake and we had to start the process again.  This time we were told no later than May 28.  May 28 came and again we were informed we weren't going to make it, and that we needed to push the date back to June 14, so we did, working with the sellers allowing them to stay in the home until June 28.  We new we wouldn't be moving in until then.  Art got an offer to work full time in Park City at this time, so we informed the mortgage company that after we closed he would be changing jobs but we just wanted to do the right thing.  After looking at the numbers, they told us to have him change right now, that it would be better for our loan and that we may have issues after closing if there are changes because they verify again before the first payment is made. So, Art did that.  We then get an email that says we won't be able to close because of the job changes.  Week after week we waited and worked hard to get information in to prove that we made enough.  We paid off other loans (my car and Art's student loan) and finally, on June 21, we were informed we made the cut and could close on June 28.  June 27 came and I called the sellers to let them know we had some of our storage being dropped off and they said they wouldn't be moving out until the next week, because we wouldn't fund. I had called them multiple times for a week telling them that we would, so the title company got involved telling them that indeed we would.  The next morning when the POD was dropped the sellers were horrible to me, and I had to ask the neighbor to put it on their property. Luckily, we have good neighbors.  We were able to move in that evening.  So finally-Welcome home to our new home.  Because of this whole ordeal we now have a new family slogan "Go Create Your Own Luck!" because obviously nothing will ever be handed to us.  I am never moving again!

Tori flew in two days prior to closing so we had one more quick adventure.  Grace was so excited to see her, she was literally glued to her hip!
We stayed at Lori and Steve's house and had a lot of fun!

We did a little pre-move dancing.

And while waiting to sign papers, we spent some time at the park.
And then finally!  The manager for the mortgage company even came, because they had all worked so hard he wanted to see it with his own eyes.
And finally-Home.  Of course Art had to work overnight so he missed the initial walk in-but we did it.  (as you can see the trailer of theirs is still in the driveway, they just didn't want to get out) My family was coming to help us move and they waited all day for my call that we would actually get the keys.

Steve told Grace to throw a dollar when we got in, so that it would bring us financial luck, so she did!
 Finally Welcome Home!
That night, we slept like sardines on the floor.
We moved really hard the next two days and spent lots of time enjoying the yard and the house.

Art thinks this is so funny!

The house!  I feel so very blessed and I am so happy to be living here!

nice garage (we hope to park in one day)
The back yard,  Art worked so hard one weekend tearing out all of the grass for the play area and the trailer, putting in rock, setting up the tramp and getting the hot tub up and running.  He is pretty amazing!

We love it so much and are so thankful for all of the help family gave to get us in, both during the loan process and the move.
